Kaunergrat nature park. A real gem.

A protected area in the mountains

The Kaunergrat nature park stretches over Pitztal and Kaunertal Valley and the village of Fließ. It is considered one of the most diverse nature reserves in Tyrol.

Alpine landscapes, unspoilt habitats and active conservation go hand in hand over around 590 square kilometres. Varied hikes, themed trails and information along the way encourage a conscious approach to flora, fauna and geology. The nature park is ideal for anyone wanting to add a quiet, educational and sustainable dimension to their holiday in Pitztal Valley, with time to observe and understand.

Protecting nature. Understanding relationships.

The Kaunergrat nature park is all about preservation and knowledge: educational and themed trails, guided tours and visitor centres show how sensitive Alpine habitats are and how diverse they can be. Whether it's moorland, forests or high mountains, you discover nature step by step, with background knowledge instead of mere scenery. Content is presented clearly and respectfully, for adults and children alike, allowing you to be mindful when out and about in nature.
