The ear candle is made primarily of honey essence, bee's wax, sage oil, camomile and St. John's wort. When burning the candle, a chimney draught downwards is created until the flame has reaches half the length of the candle.



A small, barely noticable excess pressure is created in the ear, after half the length of the candle a chimney draught effect upwards is created, releiving this pressure. The therapist holds on to the candle and ends the treatment when the candle has burnt down to a specific height.
